Maaveeran was initially scheduled to release on 11 August 2023, but was preponed to avoid a box-office clash with Jailer. The film was released on 14 July 2023 to positive reviews from critics and became a commercial success at the box office.

In the Prime release of Maaveeran, the movie ends with Satya being rescued from the rubble and his mother screaming "Satya", then credits roll. So, the epilougue showing Satya survived and still has the powers in him is a mid credits scene.

'Maaveeran' stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. Vijay Sethupathi and Ravi Teja have done the voice over in the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film respectively. It will release in theatres on July 14.

While Aditi Shankar, plays Sivakarthikeyan's colleague, filmmaker Mysskin plays the main villain as a political leader in the film.

To clear the air, the makers released a new promo in which Hip Hop Tamziha, ARK Saravan, and Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph are present. Basil Joseph said that he saw the trailer and added that the Veeran director had told him the story. He further stated that there is no absolutely no connection between both.
