During the flight of the 2nd stage a liquid oxygen leak developed on the second stage. Ice began to build rapidly in large quantities around the engine. After much time passed without an update from SpaceX on a Starlink deployment, I asked Elon if he had an update. He replied, "Upper stage restart to raise perigee resulted in an engine RUD for reasons currently unknown. Team is reviewing data tonight to understand root cause. Starlink satellites were deployed, but the perigee may be too low for them to raise orbit. Will know more in a few hours."

SpaceX later stated they made contact with five of the satellites so far and were attempting to have them raise orbit using their ion thrusters. Elon replied, "We’re updating satellite software to run the ion thrusters at their equivalent of warp 9. Unlike a Star Trek episode, this will probably not work, but it’s worth a shot. The satellite thrusters need to raise orbit faster than atmospheric drag pulls them down or they burn up."

The FAA is now requiring an investigation into Starlink Group 9-3 to determine public safety before Falcon 9 can return to flight. Per Elon, "We will investigate the issue and look for any other potential near-misses. We are tracking to do more Falcon flights this year than Shuttle did in 30 years, the vast majority of which are uncrewed. A major advantage of this super high flight rate is that we can identify and resolve problems that may only occur once every 1000 flights. This is impossible on a low flight rate vehicle."

This places the Falcon 9 at 334 successful launch streak before an incident.

- Per Adzhar Ibrahim, "One of the worst feelings in these modern times is to feel...unconnected. This doesn't happen very often, unless you have the habit of going to remote parts of the world. Then it sucks, until you get back to "civilisation". Unless you have friends who have Starlink."

X:

- Let the drama begin! The EU is yet again misrepresenting and threatening X. Commissioner Thierry Breton (@ThierryBreton) is at it again stating, "Back in the day, Blue Checks used to mean trustworthy sources of information. Now with X, our preliminary view is that they deceive users and infringe the DSA. X has now the right of defence, but if our view is confirmed we will impose fines & require significant changes." Elon replied, "How we know you’re real? 🧐"

EU VP for Digital Age & Commissioner for Competition, Margrethe Vestager (@vestager), posted, "In our view X doesn’t comply with the DSA in key transparency areas. It misleads users, fails to provide adequate ad repository and blocks access to data for researchers. It’s the first time we issue preliminary findings under the Digital Services Act." Elon replied, "The DSA IS misinformation! The European Commission offered X an illegal secret deal: if we quietly censored speech without telling anyone, they would not fine us. The other platforms accepted that deal. X did not. We look forward to a very public battle in court, so that the people of Europe can know the truth."

Linda Yaccarino stated, "A democratized system, allowing everyone across Europe to access verification, is better than just the privileged few being verified. We stand with everyone on X and in Europe who believes in the open flow of information and supports innovation."

Thierry's response, "Be our guest Elon. There has never been, and will never be, any “secret deal”. With anyone. The DSA provides X (and any large platform) with the possibility to offer commitments to settle a case. To be extra clear: it’s *YOUR* team who asked the Commission to explain the process for settlement and to clarify our concerns. We did it in line with established regulatory procedures. Up to you to decide whether to offer commitments or not. That is how rule of law procedures work. See you (in court or not)."

- X secured the Money Transmitter License in California. X now has licenses in 33 states.
