Ferry St.

shortly after 10 o'clock this morning. The victim, Robert P. Keating, 30, employed in the North Tonawanda plant of the Durez Plastics Division, Hooker Chemical had a small-caliber bullet wound in the forehead. Beside him was a rifle. Medical Examiner Rocco M.

DeDominicis is investigating. The tragedy was discovered by the victim's mother, Mrs. Adrian Smith of 800 W. Ferry and Mrs. A.

Warren Smith 269 Highland Ave. Detective Sgt. John W. Sammon and Detective William R. Klaus of the Homicide Squad said Mrs.

Caney, a teacher and assistant principal in the city's elementary schools for more than 50 years, died Wednesday (April 13, 1960). She lived at 400 Parkridge Ave. Miss Caney entered the Buffalo public school system in 1905 as a teacher in School 22. Fifteen years later, she was transferred to School 50 where, in 1924, she became assistant principal. The following year, she was appointed assistant principal of School 21.

From 1929 until her retirement in 1953, she was assistant principal of School 81. To help ease the teacher shortage, Miss Caney after her retirement, returned as a temporary teacher and substitute in Schools 36, 80 and 83. She was a member of the Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, and the Mother Church of Christain Science in Boston. At one time, she was second reader in the First Church of Christ, Scientist, here. Miss Caney was a graduate of Old Central High School and the Buffalo Teacher Training School.

FOUNDER, IS DEAD CHICAGO, April 14 (P) -Walter P. Paepcke, 63, founder and chairman of Container Corp. of America and developer of a world famous cultural center in Aspen, died Wednesday. Mr. Paepcke founded Container Corp.

in 1926 and under his direction it became one of the world's largest manufacturers of paper and cardboard containers. A firm believer that businessmen should take an interest in culture, Mr. Paepcke founded the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies in 1950. Companies sent their top executives to take part in lectures, forums, seminars and discussions of philosophy, religion, politics, economics, art and music. At the time of his death, Mr.

Paepcke was director of the U.S. Gypsum Encyclopaedia Britannica, Continental Air Lines and the Aspen Skiing Corp. He also was a trustee of the University of Chicago. MANLEY O. HUDSON DIES; WAS JUDGE ON WORLD COURT CAMBRIDGE, April 14 (UPI) Manley 0.

Hudson, 73, a former judge on the World Court at The Hague, and professor emeritus of international law at Harvard University, died Wednesday at his home. Judge Hudson served on the World Court from 1936 to 1945, when it was replaced by the present International Court of Justice. He was the first chairman of the United Nations International Law Commission in 1949. Following World War Judge Hudson had been a member of the American Commission to negotiate peace in Paris. He later served on the secretariat of the League of Nations.
